3 dead, hundreds injured in iPad crush

An electronics store in the town of Lemming near London was the scene of mayhem and carnage today as hundreds of frenzied shoppers converged on Hometron Electronics in hopes of being first to purchase the Apple iPad in the United Kingdom that went on sale this week.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 0900 GMT when the store opened as a well-ordered queue suddenly began rushing into the store.

Store manager Miles Stigg stated that he was devastated by the event. He’d not seen anything as bad since the cabbage patch doll rampage that killed twelve.

Stigg was relieved that he managed to set aside an undisclosed number of iPad units for his family and friends.

Some of the injured were able to purchase the coveted device before being taken bloodied a bruised to nearby hospital.

In other news the Israeli military attacked an aid vessel in international waters killing at least nine people. It is not known if anyone onboard was carrying an iPad.
